Type of mullite ceramics:
Mullite ceramics are the only stable phase in the Al2O3 system, with excellent high temperature stability, even at high temperature conditions of 1300°C, its strength loss is very small, and it is a promising high-temperature refractory material. Because mullite has good mechanical, thermal, electrical and optical properties, it is widely used in defense, industry and civil fields.
Mullite ceramics mainly include ordinary mullite ceramic and high-purity mullite ceramic.

Application of mullite ceramics:
1.Mullite refractories
As a refractory material with excellent performance, mullite has high melting point, high temperature strength, low thermal expansion coefficient, and excellent thermal shock resistance, making it a refractory material in many industrial fields. As an aggregate, mullite is widely used in metallurgy, glass, ceramics and other fields. In the metallurgical industry, mullite can be used for hot blast stove bricks or kiln furniture bricks; In the glass industry, mullite can be used in structures such as glass containers, water feeders and glass kiln tops; In the field of ceramics, mullite can be used in high-temperature structural ceramics; In the gas industry, mullite can be used in oil and gas processing equipment and coke ovens and gas generators in all gasification plants.
2.Optical materials
Mullite’s light absorption performance is higher than that of spinel, sapphire and other materials. Mullite is an excellent infrared-transparent material for window materials used in chemically demanding mechanical applications that withstand high temperatures.
